The Life Education Foundation (LEF) was founded in New York in March of 2002 with the belief that education is the only way for children to improve the quality of their lives. From the beginning, we have made it our mission to provide direct financial aid to children who do not have access to education

LEF's pilot project began in rural Baxu Village, located in the rugged terrain of China's Guangxi province(Baiku Yao Minority). Through generous donations from supporters, the program was initially able to provide financial aid to more than 1,000 children in seven elementary schools. Since then, LEF has continued to build upon this program. We have extended our support to additional students attending schools for higher education and have also expanded into other areas in China.

Tax-exempt and non-profit, LEF is a hands-on organization that meticulously oversees and ensures the proper use of donations. 100% of all donations are used to further students' education-LEF does not use donations for administrative expenses. Instead, volunteers pay their own expenses, traveling to China semi-annually in order to distribute funds and materials directly to students and school administrators. Target villages are selected based on financial need, as well as the children's desire to learn.
